I just pushed the button on some Ride-Rite Bags for my Sierra and I am workin on a compressor kit with two separate valves for the bags.

My thinkin is that if you have the bags connected together and have to take a curve really hard or whatever to make the body roll alot the bags would actually amplify the roll because air would move from the low side to the high side and actually push the high side up. :dunno:

Anyways, I wont be installing it till I get some time this winter but I thought I would tell the world

It's not too bad of a job, my dad and I installed a set of air lift bags on his truck, along with a compressor. I see what your saying about the body roll, but IMO if you pulling a trailer, most of the tongue weight is centered and low enough on the hitch that it shouldn't have much of an effect, but if your hauling lots of loads in your bed, that may be a different story.

Here's the LINK to an install/write up thread that may have some helpful ideas for you.

Also just make sure all of you cuts in the line are clean and straight, we had 2 leaks, they both turned out to cut fairly crooked, one we cut, and another seemed like it was smashed slightly when it was cut, but a good clean cut, and the connectors work great.

The side to side transfer is a self imagined issue. Helper bags are not nearly as load bearing as your leaf spring stacks and your shocks will take care of the rest. It's no different than a pair of air shocks with a central pressure hose.

You'll be fine but we'll need an install thread and pics!:)

Well of course there will be an install thread and pics

Well i am already working on the individual fill kit and it doesnt bother me to fill them like that. Its more of a peace of mind thing i guess.

This will happen at the same time as my audio system so I can route all the wiring and hoses all at the same time.

It is logical that having them share an air supply would lead to some transfer between them. I'm just saying that it isn't something that would ever be noticed.

We'll be waiting for the pics!

It's not heaven . . . it's Iowa!
I picked up an a brochure about bags when I got my tonneau put on. I don't tow too much, so I can't justify it to myself yet.

I agree with that for towing a trailer, but I think Scott told a story about one of his friends with a Bed Camper that rolled due to wind, roads and the bags sharing a T-connection:dunno:

I am planning on doing an individual fill set up whenever I get around to doing mine mostly for the fact that you can level an uneven load side to side.

I have an idea that I would like some input on, Maybe OG can come in and help out with it.

I have this controller for my air bags and there is no real good place to mount it without being a danger to use when Im driving. I would like to take the gauge out and put it in a visible spot and put the switches down below but within arms reach. The problem is this...

My thinking is that I can cut the tubes that run together and lengthen them and put the gauge where ever and mount the switches somewhere else.

Any Objections :dunno:
