I'm new here, I imagine I will get some results same as frame resto but I have been online searching for months. I have a 98 k1500 that was neglected. It has a rusty coated BDS suspension lift (6" front ifs, 5" rear) and frame. I want to do a full paint and rust preventative restoration on lift and frame. Has anyone done this for a similar lift? Would it be smarter to pull it all apart and resto each piece of the lift or restore the frame and lift together with stripper and then paint? Or purchase a new lift, restore frame, and run with it? I'm open to all options. Thank you ( the truck aint leaving, daughter wants it. What my baby wants, she gets!). lol

Regardless of what you do for the lift, it all needs to come off if you want to a good job. Restoring the pieces, putting in all new bushings and hardware, and replacing the shocks may not be much cheaper than a new kit

That's what I was thinking. These 90's ifs lifts aren't as expensive as they used to be. I just did the upper/lower conrol arms, ball joints and spindles/brakes calipers. Would've been cheaper to buy new control arms and spindles. Probable going to go that route. Thanks!

Howdy! Curious with the conditions of the parts? New stuffs seem a better choice.
