That's it.....so, since 1990, other than routine maint., my trucks have cost me nothing. THAT is why I drive GM trucks.
Toyota guys must get under your skin...
Nah...Jeff couldn't stop praising Toyotas when we (well...he) did our servos.
---------------------------------
Here is my list from different people in the family:
2005 Buick Rainier V8 - Grandma's current vehicle
~30K miles a weld broke associated with the A/C system - Warranty
~33K miles front diff started leaking - Warranty
~35K miles front diff leaking again, diff was rebuilt with higher quality parts...common problem from what I hear - Warranty
----------
2001 Ford Escape 3.0 - Mom's ride
~90K miles rough idle in the cold...replaced IAC valve $50.00
~100K miles rough idle present at all times. Replaced lower intake manifold gaskets - $8.00
Other than that, nothing but routine maintenance.
----------
1996 Ford Explorer 4.0 - Grandma's old ride
In a word...bulletproof...but gutless.
Other than routine maintenance, it needed the IAC cleaned and a thermostat. That is one Ford I would have no problem driving (again).
----------
2006 Silverado - MINE!
~24K miles:
- Three intermediate shafts
- Door seal replaced
- Body mount bushings installed for creaking
- Leak inside cab because moonroof drain hole not proper size (I will drill out)
So far cost me nothing (other than routine maintenance) and extremely happy with the truck.
