Oh I don't know...:rollin:

Keep 'em coming though. This is quickly becoming my favorite board. Hanging out on a board where everybody drives the same thing gets boring real fast. Need someone to keep you on your toes.

I agree 100%. A board where everybody has the same stuff quickly becomes a fanboy hangout... THAT bores the shit outta me.

Here are a few of mine... just the recent new trucks.

1994 Chevrolet Silverado ExCab - oil leak - minor (warranty) - Power window motor (warranty) - had for 25K miles.

1995 Chevrolet Silverado ExCab 4x4 - no repairs - had for 30K miles

1996 GMC Sierra RCSB - no repairs - had for 45K miles

1997 Mazda B4000 ExCab - Rebuilt transmission (warranty) - had for 40K miles

1998 Nissan Frontier Excab 4x4 - no repairs - maintenance only for 65K

2001 Chevrolet Silverado
- Ignition switch (warranty) - Replaced distributor (waranty) Replaced engine - killed by leaking intake gasket at 80K (not under warranty) - Slip yoke repair (warranty) - Replaced AC pressure switch (not under warranty)

2005 Chevy Silverado CrewCab - no repairs needed, but had steering knock issue - had for 30K miles

2007 Nissan Titan ExCab - no repairs needed - had for 10K miles

2007 GMC Sierra RCSB - no repairs needed - 13K miles so far

I've had pretty good luck with trucks from several brands.

2000 Silverado 1500 4x4. Bought it with 154k on it, most of these popped up between 160k and 175k, I've been good for a while, I think I've replaced just about everything.

- Fuel pump
- Water pump
- Bad cat (2 new ones sitting waiting to go on)
- U-joints
- Drivers side front hub/bearing assy.
- Rotted cab corner
- Sagging leaf springs
- Shocks, obviously
- Assorted interior lights stopped working (and they ain't getting fixed, I don't care enough)
- Both front speakers blown
- Alternator
- Power Steering pump

I think that's it? :D

Believe it or not though, the motor, trans, and rear end are all original to my knowledge with 181k+ on the clock.

Jesus Zembonez you go through trucks before they're even broken in.

There have been a lot more cars than trucks. I normally don't keep them long unless I get attached to one.

What was the defect?

Bad (from the factory) crank bearings which screwed something that ended up screwing 3 cylinder walls. My mechanic said he's seen it over and over and that Cummins doesn't cover any of it. There was a truck there at the same time as mine with the exact same trouble that had 50K on the clock and the Dodge dealership wouldn't cover the new engine because of his K&N intake.

Maybe he could've pushed the issue and got it fixed, but he was the owner of some large business and he got so pissed that he sold all his Dodge fleet cars and trucks and switched to Ford, and he's never buying another Dodge.

All this is second hand from my mechanic, and sorry for the crappy description of the defect, I was so pissed I didn't really care. These engines are not supposed to be tearing themselves up this early and this often. I heard it was something about the 06's, a guy in my town has one and he's had the engine replaced twice.

A Cummins is a great engine to have as long as it's working fine. When it is knocking so loud that you can hear it for 50 yards, be prepared to receive the shaft in the form of a $7000 fucking bill.
