Getting near time to do pads and probably rotors on the rear of my '08. Never done these before, anyone know if there are any tricks to it?

Should be pretty much the same as the front. The only difference would be the parking brake mechanism.

Never done fronts either

I've got plenty of experience with brakes, used to care for a fleet of Ford vans. My rear disc experience is limited to my wife's CR-V (drum e-brake inside the disc hub) and my Miata- which has a hidden hex screw to retract the piston, squeeze it with a C-clamp and you're buying a new caliper. :( Wondering if there are any similar traps on the Dodge.

Nothing difficult. I wouldn't worry about the parking brake unless you are having problems with it.

Jack and support axle
Remove Tire
Loosen caliper bolts
Remove and support caliper
Compress piston, slowly
R&R pads
Reverse process.
Pump brakes while in park with engine running.
Top off any brake fluid.
Test drive and brake in pads.

Ok, 5 months later, I finally get around to taking a crack at this.

Caliper off, no problem- pair of 10mm bolts

Caliper bracket off- big bolts, 23mm(?) and a 1/2 breaker bar

Rotor stuck on the hub, cranked the adjuster on the e-brake a bit. Few love taps with a hammer. Rotor wouldn't budge, decided to take a look at the new one to see if there's any visible tricks.

New rotor looks much different than the old one. So do the pads. Get home and check my order- Oops, got the parts for the MegaCab. Also, I sat on my a$$ too long and it's too late to return them. Not that I'd want to pay shipping on those lumps anyway.

Guy down the street has a couple trucks, 2500/3500 Dodges. I think they may fit his. Wonder if he'll give me a $100 for the set? Save $70 plus shipping...

On a final insult, a little spring broke in my hood latch, so it won't stay closed

Isn't that such a bitch, I don't understand what the cab size has to do with the size of brake parts. It's not like it makes that large of difference. They just want to make it harder on everyone.

The MegaCab uses the larger 8 lug axles of the 3/4 and 1T trucks, it's sort of a hybrid between the 1/2T and the heavier trucks.
