And to add insult to injury, there are two plugs per cylinder. :nonod:
2 per cyl isn't so bad, especially since they're both under the same coil. The real killer is that at least 4 of them are buried under the brake booster:fume:

I got tired of waiting for it to warm up enough to do the job at home, so I started some this afternoon at work. Got the 4 easiest plugs done, the old ones look pretty good, gap is still 0.45. Wondering if maybe the P.O. changed out the easy ones too? We'll see soon enough - only a dozen to go!

Another forum suggested that the front O2 sensor might be the issue, so I've ordered a pair of them too.

Stumbling has gotten more frequent lately, shutting down and restarting fixes it most times. I wrote down some freeze frame data when it lit up the CEL a while back. I can post it if it's wanted. I can't make heads or tails of it to be honest.

My old Nissan Hardbody has 2 plugs per cyl. Didn't figure it out until after I had changed 4. Never did get around to the others, to be honest I never even saw them in there.

CEL is P0300, multiple misfires. No plug wires on this thing, there's a COP with two boots sitting right on top of each pair of plugs.

I'm sure there's an EGR in there somewhere :)

Finally got all the plugs changed. I found two Coils had a loose retaining bolt, though I doubt that's my problem. All the plugs looked pretty good, I suspect they may have been changed prior to my purchase. I don't think the P.O. pulled a "skip the hard parts" job.

Have an EGR valve?
Funny you should mention that. I started on the driver's side to get the really hard parts out of the way first. Then I moved to the pass side and finally pulled the air cleaner & resonator chambers off. Next I see the EGR tube in the way, wondering how I'm going to work around it, I grabbed it...and it moved...a lot. Uh-oh, broken? No, the bolts holding the pipe to the EGR valve were backed about 1/2 way out. Lots of space for unaccounted for, nice cold air, to sneak it's way into the engine. Snugged it all up, finished replacing the plugs and put it all back together.

We'll see if my miss is gone now. Still have the O2 sensors coming, will probably put them in anyway. Thank God I won't have to do plugs for another 30K miles, the way I drive that's probably 6 or 7 years.

Following up a few months later- running great. I think the EGR was the culprit.
