Quick question!

If I get a tune for my truck, either for my 4.3 (or my future 5.3... Which will NEED it, so it doesn't throw transmission codes ) Will I still be able to use my Hypertech programmer to change the tire size?

I have two sets of wheels/tires, and they're different sizes... Accurate speedometer is a requirement for me when I use my truck at work

Why not have them change the tire size when you get your tune?

Yeah, I don't see why not, just as long as you don't let the programmer adjust the engine tuning settings.

but the tune settings are protected/locked. You would have to get it retuned to change the sizes.

Why not have them change the tire size when you get your tune?

Because then I'd have to send it in to get it retuned whenever I switched to the other set of tires....

I don't want to mess with the engine tuning... You don't HAVE to tune the engine with it, you can do just the tire sizes...

Why not run the same size tires in winter and summer? Even if they are 16s and 18s, it's still possible to get same overall diameter tires.

I've got one set for playing in the mud, and another in factory size for regular driving, due to the 2 or 3 MPG hit

Though, I may invest in a nice set of 17s for summer one of these days...
