Hey Duded and Dudes, I got what I was told is a 1995 5.7 engine. It is a tbi setup which I changed. I put a Edelbrock air gap with a Holly carb. It ran pretty good with this setup. I pulled heads off and put on rebuild vortec 906 heads. Now when I attempt to set rockers the rods are too long keeping valves from sealing. Engine looks like it was rebuild... Wondering if I should change cam with matching lifters. Also wondering if roller rockers would take different length pushrods.

It has been YEARS since I had to think about this, but Vortec heads on a TBI block did not need different pushrods. Are these heads machined, possibly? The self aligning vortec rockers should be used unless you are running a monster cam over like a half inch of lift. I am by no means an expert, but helped with one of these swaps in the early days, and the vortec heads went right on. We had to have the TBI manifold machined to bolt on, the end bolts were different angle on the vortec heads.
