Awesome. So good, in fact, that he acts like nothing happened and he runs and jumps and acts like the pycho-pup that he normally does, and we had a bit of leakage from the stitches. If you had a gash like this, would you be bouncing around 2 days later? 8 inches long. Doc Bob will have to tell us how invasive it is
Yeah, Anna did something to one of her front paws or shoulders on Monday. She was limping kind of bad, didn't want to touch it to the floor. (She showed no signs of pain when I checked her over, though.) Tuesday morning, she got into my bed, but wouldn't get down on her own. So, I had to help her. By around lunch time, though, she ran into the computer room, flopped her rope down on the floor, wanting me to throw it, and ran/jumped/etc. as if nothing had happened at all. I know that's not surgery, but in less than a day and a half, she went from "I won't go outside for my bio-break without you watching to make sure I stay safe" and feeling needy to "let's run and play!"
Yeah, I want that kind of healing power. It is amazing. I hate watching them get old, sick, and hurt. I have been through it so much, now. Each time, I tell myself "this is the last time" because it rips my fucking heart out to put them down. They have just been such a big part of our lives, we can't imagine not having them around. We had a house full for Thanksgiving, and it makes it challenging to have these 2 big bastards in the middle of everything. They are house dogs, and some of our family doesn't get it My SIL asked "when do they go outside for the night?" Maybe they won't come back
Me and a lady at work got into a discussion a while back about dogs and "when would you put them outside, so that someone could come for a visit?" I told her I probably wouldn't. "The dog lives here. They don't. If they can't deal with dogs, they can just not come over!" She said something else about "what about kids who are afraid of dogs?" I said, "Keep your damn scared kids away, too!" Me and a male coworker got a good laugh out of it (I think he even said, "DAMN, Michael!" as he was laughing his ass off.), but she seemed kind of appalled at my response. When do they go outside...? When do you leave!?
I already knew Great Danes had their health issues. So, how is him going? Putting the dog outside is not an option for me too, especially because I live in an apartment. The only time I had to do that was in those days that I fostered a Pitbull, and I had to improvise a shed for him in the terrace because Vanessa didn't accept another dog getting on the couch or on my bed.
