Overdrive help

1995 ford f150 xlt 302 automatic

Overdrive disengaged itself driving the other day. Drives and shifts fine when not in overdrive. Just geared awful low. Overdrive light flashes off on the gear shifter lever on the column. Cant get overdrive to come back on. Overdrive relay? Speed sensor? Whats ur thoughts.

Check for chaffed wires.

Check all the connections, take apart and clean with electrical contact cleaner.

Ok. Thinks its the transmission control switch is bad but not sure which one i have on my trany.

Did you ever get this fixed Dave? What did it end up being? I'm sure it's electrical and should have been a relatively easy fix. Just a matter of tracking it down. I could even be the button in the end of the shift stick. Should only be one OD solenoid.
