Ouch! Don't lose a key!

Went to the lake over labor day weekend where one of my keys for my 08 Sierra disappeared. Finally got around to the dealer to get a new one since I wasn't too comfortable with just having one and none of the hardware stores care the chipped keys. $45 after a 15% discount! I miss the old, non-chipped keys that were a whopping $0.70.

Keys for new cars are nuts. I have a neighbor that just paid 140 bucks for a new Altima key.

WOW I thought the Nissan was bad!

The Nissan "key" is a transmitter that stays in your pocket and allows you to push a start button and drive away.

LOL, compared to all those others GM's are cheap. I programmed it myself, took all of 3 seconds. I still have two non-remote start remotes that I'll just reprogram in for the spare. The only thing is I paid $45 for a key with a bow tie on it. They didn't have any GMC keys at the GMC dealership, only Chevy. Maybe I should have hit up the Chevy lot.

Buy a GM blank from there, or on eBay or anywhere. Then have the guy at the Hardware store cut it for you. I did this, ended up paying $15, factoring in the cut and the shipping.
