Old 350 newer injection?

i have a 1996 Chevy it has the 350 vortec.

Has anyone ever used a old block with the vortec heads and kept the injection?

Im asking cause i can get a 383 stroker from my girlfriends dad and i want to put it in the truck.

the stock 350 is pecking and knocks when cold.

Any info is appreciated

ive heard that i have to drill a knock sensor hole its a 80's block anyone have a thread about this?
