these are the 305/55r20. So, I know i bought these tires used at somewhere between 75 and 50% tread left, but they are just not good in snow. Even if they would be good brand new, I need to have them stay usable throughout their life. The width of the 305 is doing me no favors, but they clog up super fast. I need to figure out if i want to play the winter tire game, of find a hybrid AT/Mud that will clear the snow better. The Mickey Thompson MTZs i had on my TJ were awesome in the snow, but I don't want to go full mud tire for towing.

If you can find a tire shop that imports them, the Toyo Open Country C/T's are awesome. I've never _needed_ 4WD on roads. Even unloaded.

They're not as soft as Duratracs, so they last longer.

I have a brand new set of Firestone Winterforce 18s, well they have one month on them. I am not sure if I am going to mount them up next year or not.

The General AT2's I've been running are awesome in the snow. I just run stock size...LT 245/75/R16 on mine. We just haven't had much snow to speak of this year.

So far, my G2s are wearing like iron. They do not have the great looks of my Duratracs, but they sure are smooth and quiet. I have 25K on them now. It will be interesting to see how far they go before they turn to shit. Conservative guess that 5K of that mileage was loaded heavy.

I really like my Duratracs

The Terra G2s are a good tire... But I think they're like the Michelin LTX... Some sizes just aren't as good as others...

Or are you both running 305s?

we're both running 305s. I went and took a closer look before we left for my folks house, and I'd say they're more way more worn than I was told when sold. well over half used. I'll grab my tread gauge and confirm that when I get home, but I didn't care at the time of purchase because the tires and wheels were less than I could get the wheels themselves for.

Right now I'm thinking about going to one of the hybrids: the Toyo RT or maybe the Ridge Grappler. Duratrac size section kinda sucks, or i'd consider them too.

It does. I loved the 285s I had on my other truck were awesome, but damn. Squeezing 34.5" on that truck was a chore. Muey hacking and bending was involved. I am not sure what you can squeeze into these ones without much surgery
