Had my MacBook Air 11" (2012) for about three years and decided it was time to go back to a Windows laptop. I thought about waiting for Windows 10 to come up but it's a free upgrade anyways so I went ahead and bit the bullet. One thing I learned shopping around is that if you buy a PC from the MS Store they're all a "Signature Edition" which are clean installs with no crapware. I ended up buying there because the same configuration from Dell was $100 more and there was an extra $100 off coupon. As promised this is a clean install with no trial ware, adware, McAfee, nothing. I'm not used to getting a new computer and not reformatting it right off the bat to get rid of the shit. Specs: Dell XPS 13 (2015) i5 5200U 8GB Ram 256GB SSD 13.3" 3200x1800 resolution touch screen Picture with it next to my 11" MBA, they're about the same size thanks to the tiny bezels on the Dell.
No iStuff!?!? Congrats! I have a Dell desktop and a Dell laptop. Both have been good to me (so far). So, I'll probably buy Dell again, when it's time to replace these.
No, no iStuff. I think every computer I've had has been a Dell and they haven't given me really any issues. Though my current desktop lost half of it's SATA ports, but a cheap PCIe SATA card fixed that.
Nice! W7 is the only reason I don't replace my now 5 year old XPS Studio 14. Maybe the W8 is muey better with the touch screen?
I never really disliked 8 and have been running it on my desktop without a touch screen fine. I can't really say what all the touch screen adds, I've tinkered with it but at the end of the day I'm still a mouse/touchpad and keyboard guy. I probably could have lived without the touchscreen but that's the only way to get the high res screen, which I wanted to try out.
Lol, I'm still rocking your old Sony VAIO! I want something newer but I don't know what I want. I might settle for a chromebook but I want more than just a browsing laptop.
