need wheels...suggestions

so couple months ago i picked me up some 18" wheels off of an 08 silverado. the tires (duellers) suck. the rims are ok. but i need a crucial upgrade. i'm torn between going for a nice street look.....and offroad look. not much need for offroad capability living in hawaii, but it's what i'm used too. lifted and ready to smash the little guys. parking space and future duty station is strangling my wants of lifting the truck

this is what i'm thinking about, either getting some 22" on street tires. or going with a 18" and larger offroad tire (what's the biggest i could go riding stock height 31" tire? would a leveling kit provide more space for larger tires?) so....start dropping ideas! pix are welcome

If so, I'd go with some beefy 18s and keep them. I think that's one of the best looking OEM wheels going myself.

yuppers! those are the ones i got. they do look good, but the dueller tires they come with are horrid. i've also been thinking about this route you suggested. just putting on some beefier better tires. but what size could i go....should i level it?

Vmax2007 has some pretty large 18s. I don't know what size. Maybe he'll jump in and say. I think he has Toyos.

Mine are Nitto Terra Grapplers, 285/65R18

Problem with 18" A/T tires is that the selection is limited and "most" of them are Load "E" range tires. Mine are Load E's and they are heavy bastards and ride very stiff. I would love to get rid of these for a lighter tire.
Probably a size or 2 smaller too.

I'd probably put BFG All Terrains on if it were mine but they are pricey. The Terra Grapplers Jeff has look good but I never had a set.

Go to www.tirerack.com and check out their ratings. It's a good way to know what is good and what sucks.

my bro has the terra grapplers. seem to work well for him. can you briefly explain Load "E".....and different variants of load ratings. also, how tall are your tires?
