Well first off hello everyone. Sorry it's been so long since I've been on. My Gmc has a lot of loose play in the driver side cv axle where it connects into the differential. I don't have any noise just a lot of play. I'm trying to pin point what's been causing my rough ride lately. [YT]6faXLHWh8vc&feature=youtu.be[/YT]

Video is private.

Are you talking about where the CV connects to the flange or the flange itself?

The flange itself moves up and down a lot. I thought it could be a bad bearing but I can't hear any noise.

I'm thinking if there's that much play eventually the seal & the bearing are going to go bad and maybe do some damage.Might be wise to fix it now or at least take it to a trusted shop and let them have a look at it.Consider joining alldatadiy.com,they have tons of info on these trucks.I've been a member for years and they've helped me numerous times.

+1 It will also wear out the shaft clearances on the differential.

Jrod did a good and detailed write up on rebuilding one. You can look for the thread and repair it yourself.
