Okay, my 383 is back out of the truck and at the motor shop. I have some decisions to make and need help.

In my state I have to have the inspection done. With that in mind I have to run the obd2 computer. (which has been updated to a ls computer to handle up to 4 bars of pressure)

So, I am thinking I want to pressurize the motor. Currently I have the vortec heads on my motor (1998 5.7l)

I am going to put aluminum heads on the truck, so I can put vortec bolt pattern or standard. My options are open. But now I need to find a supercharger to bolt to the heads. Any ideas?

Oh, and I will probably need to have some emissions visible. I'm thinking maybe a supercharger from the last gen camaro.

So I'm thinking that I need to find and modify a manifold and get a larger throttle body, then get one of these. My options are limited. I really want a roots based blower that I can sit on top of the engine, but this is looking like it may be all i can get.

Are you sure you need it to pass emmisions even after you put a different engine? I don't know but I hope not.

Why would the different engine negate the inspection? We just recently voted our testing out, but no vehicle was exempt. I looked at the NC DMV page, and it says:

Vehicle Emissions Testing in North Carolina
Updated on Thu, 4/28/2011
In North Carolina, a vehicle emissions test is required for many original registrations, as well as for annual registration renewals.

VEHICLES THAT REQUIRE AN EMISSIONS TEST
A car, truck, motor home or RV (recreational vehicle) requires an emissions test when:

-It is driven mainly in the urban and densely populated areas.
-It runs on gasoline
