Need help picking new wall colors.

So my landlady installed new tile in my apartment and a friend of mine is giving me his old sectional couches. Since the couches are blue and the tile is greenish what colors should we go with. When we had the carpet we painted the walls orange and brown hoping she was gonna install a light brown carpet which she had agreed on but she went with the tile instead. This is what my living room looks like now.

I have no idea what color to go with. I dont like white either, you guys have any ideas

 

Light grey or steel blue would look good, I think.

 

To be honest, I don't think it looks to bad the way it is, maybe it's just the pictures.

 

Here are some possibilities. But the key to getting the right color on your walls is to purchase only a quart of paint, then come home a paint one wall let it dry for 3 to 4 hours then decide if the color looks good or not.

 

I like the bottom one in the blue line up. I was going to say take the lightest blue from the couch and drop it down a few shades, but I see Leo already did that. Or find a compementary color between the tile (greenish) and the couch (bluish) and pick an offwhite color with those hues. That way you keep the room bright, but with a hint of color.

 

Take a look at my kitchen tile it has a lot of grey but the light browns compliments the grey nicely.
