My boss is looking for a crew cab silverado or sierra in the 1lt trim on the silvy or equivalent on the GMC. He need 4wd and 3.73 or 4.10 gears. Do you think he can find a truck like this for under 27k? He says that is his budget. Color isn't too important, depending on the price. He also has a retired GM employee willing to "sponsor" him to get an employee discount. Most dealers in this area say he can expect to get no more than 8-9k off MSRP with an EMP discount and the current incentives GM is offering. You guys think they are telling the truth? :dunno: Anyways, what would a truck like this sell for in your area? Gimme some prices guys. Also, he's willing to travel up to 100 miles from the Shreveport/Bossier area if he finds a good enough deal so if anyone knows any salesmen at dealers in that radius from here..... He needs one before the end of next week as he already has sold his Tundra. A guy gave him the full asking price of 7k for a 2001 Tundra 2wd:thumbs:

If he's looking at a new truck with the 6 spd, he's not going to get 4.10s, and likely doesn't need 3.73s.

Because of the extremely low first gear of the 6 spd trans, with 3.42 rear end, the final drive ratio ends up being similar to the 4 spd trans with 4.56s (I think it actually equates to 4.50). Unless he's towing the entire eastern seaboard, the 3.42s will be more than adequate.

A truck like that would sticker for between $35 and $37k around here.

Good to know, thanks Dan:thumbs: Most of the ones with the 1LT trim have the 6-speed.

They sticker for about 36-37 here, but he is trying to see if he can get one as low a 27 after all rebates or discounts. He was also looking at Tundras, but they are even higher. Although the local Toyota dealer here who deals with our store "demo" vehicles said that the 07 they had on demo here is ready for sale. It was put here at the store in 2007 and was basically a decoration for the past 2 years. It left here about a month ago with 31 miles on it to be replaced with a 2010 Tundra lawn ornament. He said they quoted him 25 for the 07 Tundra with a 3yr 36k mile bumper to bumper, AND a 5 year 100k mile toyota certified used car extended warranty. But the drawback is is a USED vehicle and would get used car finance rates. Plus the mpg's on the tundra are crap compared to GM. So if he can get a GM in that 27k range, he'd go for that.

Wow...I was going to say that seems high...but looking at prices...it's really right in the ball park.

Which puzzles me as my truck (LT3, 4WD, etc) stickered for $38K.

As for the OP...a quick check of a dealer by me shows 6 LT Crew Cabs (unknown on trans) that range...after all discounts...from $30,720 to $33,525.

EDIT...looking at those trucks...all have the 4.8 and a 4-speed.

Damn those are expensive trucks...

It seems the best he's gonna do is around 30k at the least after all discounts for a crew cab 4wd with a 5.3 :dunno:

I don't even know about that...it seems all that is out there for $30K is the 4.8 and a 4-speed...

Edit...does he absoultly have to have a 5.3? There is hardly a difference between the 5.3 and 4.8...

5.3 2009:

4.8 2009:

4.8 2010:
