Independence...
The Big 3 upgrade is electrical upgrade to improve you car or trucks charging system! It consists of upgrading and adding larger wires to the system to improve electrical flow! If you look at most the wires in your charging system they are quite small, and if you add any kind of extra draw it really can tax your system!
It is a easy upgrade consisting of just a few things!
1. Add a wire from alternator to battery positive(FUSED) I used a 200 amp fuse!
2. Add a negative wire from battery to Engine block
3 Add a negative wire from battery to Frame!
This took me about 4-5 hours, that includes organizing most of my tools, and then searching for 5/16 wrench for the stock negative termanal..and a few misc sockets!
I did this upgrade to reduce my dimming lights from my system, and to just better upgrade my electrical, I would recommend just about anybody to do this, especially anyone with a system!
First thing is to disconnect the negative battery terminal!
Next disconnect the positive terminal!
The next thing I did was disconnect the alternator
Then, because I wanted to upgrade the cable running to the distribution block, I disconnected that!
I took a piece of old 4 gauge wire and cut it to length and soldered on the ring terminal(don't be to critical it was my first time soldering wire!)
I had to trim a little plastic off to get it to close but it did, and you can barley tell!
Next I measured how much positive battery cable I needed, and cut it(hint use string to measure how much wire you need. Lay the string out in your truck where needed, and then take that measurement to your wire and then cut that amount!)
I used hedge trimmers, they worked ok, but not great!
Cleaning up and finishing the cut!
Looking at the length
Pretty flexible!
Next I soldered on the ring terminals for the aternator to battery + side!
I did the grounds the same way!(No pics same thing as positive wire, measure, cut solder)
Next I connected the wires for the distribution block and the battery to the alt and battery and block!
In this picture you can see the fuse position as well in background!(thanks Andy aka stadt11 for the position idea)

Next I hooked the ground to Engine Block up!
Next I hooked up the ground to the frame! That was cleaned!
Next I hooked up the positve( + ) power wires back up to the battery!
Next I hooked up the negitive wires to the battery!
Lastly I double checked everything, and noticed I have a little over hang in the wheel well from the negative to frame!
I will reroute or cable tie that out of the way in the next few days, but for now it is done!
