If it persists (I haven't noticed it much, the last couple of days, because it wasn't rainy today and we didn't have a lot of rain yesterday), I may give the charcoal idea a try. Thanks, James!

So, Felix, you have charcoal scattered around your house because of the funk?? :wtf:

Well, it's a long story, but one night my mom and I went to BINGO and she left a pan of frijoles on the stove. She thought she turned it off, but she didn't. We got back a couple of hours later and my brother(RIP) had every door and window open in the house, and the pan sitting outside. The house stunk for days, bad as hell too. We wound up trashing the pan, and putting piles of charcoal on paper plates around the house. Made it much better than anything wlse we tried. Had to wash all the cloth in the house again before we could wear clothes or sleep in the bed.

I thought I mis-read what you were saying earlier... Wow..! So, burnt frijoles can stink up a place that bad, eh?

If the musty smell persists take a 10lb bag of charcoal cut a "H" in the bag full length and let it sit in the closed box for a while. ... Also helps with interiors that got wet from open windows and such. Stops the funk from getting you when you open the door.

:werd: I can verify that the charcoal trick does work. I've heard it before but actually had to to it earlier this summer. I had an ice chest full of drinks iced down in the back of my burban. But "somebody" left the drain plug open on the ice chest, so water leaked out onto the carpet. It had a nasty, kinda musty smell for a few days, till I added a bag of charcoal. I left the charcoal cut open lying in the back of my burban for over a week or so. Within 2 days, I noticed the smell was nearly gone. But I ended up just leaving the charcoal in there till I used it for grillin well over a week or so later.

Actually, the charcoal detour wasn't that bad... I actually appreciated the stories some, so I knew they weren't just b/s'ing me!

I am wondering, though, if the flavors absorbed from the back of that Suburban funkified the taste of the food!
