Might Go Look at This Truck Tomorrow

I found this truck on Craigslist:

It's where I bought my current truck from and I talked to my buddy who is a salesman there and he said I could probably get it for $19,000 and I could get over $20,000 for my '07 on trade in. So, I would come out with more money in my pocket and I would have cheaper insurance. Depending on what time I get done with work tomorrow night, I might go and take a look at it. Another plus is, it has fewer miles than my truck now. Whaddya guys think?

Sounds like a great deal for you, especially if you're looking to lower insurance. I'd talk them down to the $19,000 and then get them to replace that cover.


edit- Will you be taking your mods off your truck and transferring them over? IE-wheels, toolbox, brush guard?

Honestly, I don't care about the cover. I'd put my toolbox on it anyway.

As far as the mods, I'd keep the toolbox and wheels but that is about it. The brush guard and bed caps wouldn't fit.

I'd be very surprised if you actually get $20K+ on trade-in, but good luck. If you're talkin' about a damn near even swap, keep your truck and the MUCH longer warranty. Your insurance is not going to change that much.

I'd be wondering why a 2007 truck with under 30K miles was traded in.

According to my buddy, he said I could expect at least $20,500 depending what I keep on there.

As far as warranty, this truck would still have the 5yr/100,000 warranty
