I've been thinking of doing something with my truck and I think I would like it lowered as opposed to lifted. I have the Belltech shackles installed now and it gives the truck a nice level stance. I am really starting to ponder dropping the thing but I have a ton to learn about it first. So anybody have any tid bits of info to get me started in the right direction?

I am really leaning towards the McGaughy stuff since they retain a lot of the factory GM geometry and have won awards from GM for their parts. Share your knowledge if you have any since I am still trying to figure out if this is even economically do able right now.:dunno:

I have no idea of the cost...but I think that a nice clean truck...like yours... really looks good lowered a few inches.

Good luck.

I have no idea on cost either Jim, if I do lower it I will need new tires and wheels of course. All that will start to add up. I've just been tossing ideas around inside this head of mine. You know there's a lot of empty space up there.:jester:

I say do it. Lowered white trucks =

You could just start out by de-cranking and pulling out the blocks from under the axle, should be able to get you another 2" all around.

Haven't thought about that. That would be cheap, no parts involved. I'll look into that Dan, thanks.

Yup, all you'd need is some u-bolts, and an alignment. The suspension geometry won't be ideal, but it shouldn't even come close to damaging anything. From what I've read, the only negatives would probably some increased bump-steer, and possibly a harsher ride (you'd probably have to trim the bumpstops, too).

The nice thing about the torsion bars, is how reversible everything is.

Also, the keys from the HDs are indexed differently, and would allow for more low. :naughty: Not sure what your angles would look like though, I've never personally seen what the de-cranked HD keys do to the geometry. I can't imagine it would be pretty though. :uhoh:
