Lights give problem to radio signal?!

So when i drive at night when my lights are on i usually drive with my fog lights on, and lately idk when this started but when my fog lights are on i get a ton of static in my radio signal...and i get a little when my headlights are on.....but when theyre off its crystal clear...what could this be from?!

If the static varies with engine RPM...it may be the alternator or maybe a bad wire or bad ground... probably an engine ground strap.

If the static is constant and does NOT vary with engine RPM...it is probably a bad ground on one of the lights.

i changed my alternator to a 200amp about 4 months ago and this just started but it is just a steady static , doesnt vary from the engine rpm

Its most likely your HID ballast George there are know to do that try making a shield for them or relocating them :dunno:

It could also be related to the new alternator. Check and clean all the major ground. All it takes is one to get a bit loose then oxidize a bit.

Aside from the possible grounding issue I would also run to autozone and get the battery load tested. I think it is free so it wouldn't hurt to check.

I agree with the grounding issue. I had the same static that changed with RPM's with my CB.
Same here, where was your ground issue?
