Why does this come with so much stuff? Tubing screws etc?..
My friend bought this for his 2003 gmc sierra w/ 4.3l and 2 days before install he wrecked it. Has this kit and wants $150 for it... I'm tempted to get it but why so much stuff?

oh and cant I use my sealed stock box instead of the open top engine air one?

lol look at that tiny little airflow tube. 150 bucks aint a bad deal since those are ridiculously over priced brand new.

Which stock filter do you have?

I have a K&N panel for a GMT 800 that I used for about 500 miles.

I have the big one for a GMT 400 as well.

Personally... and this is just my OPINION... I think it would be a big waste of money... :dunno:
The intake system you have "NOW" is COLD AIR... the K&N is "NOT" cold air...

Agreed, your IAT's will be higher than the stock intake so you might notice some KR until at highway speeds. What the K&N does is just provide a better flowing intake without the stupid baffles of the stock.

Agreed... but on a stock 4.3 V6... it won't do any good... except make a little more noise when you stand on it... :)... to make you "THINK" you are actually going faster ... :)

I don't know many v8's that are actually moving enough air to really JUSTIFY the need for a CAI...........some people just like to say they have another gizmo. :dunno:
