Just ran across this, K&N has recalled their CAI systems due to the following:
K&N has discovered that the air delivery tubes in the covered kits, which were produced with either polypropylene or super linear polyethylene, have durability problems that can cause pieces of plastic to break away from the tube. Those pieces of plastic could enter the vehicle engine, where they could possibly cause the throttle to become temporarily jammed in the open position. This could potentially lead to a loss of control, which could result in a crash. Therefore, K&N is offering replacement air delivery tubes made with cross linked high density polyethylene, at no charge.
For the below listed applications:
1994-2001 3.9L Dodge Ram 1500 P/U Truck
1994-2002 5.2L 1500 & 5.9L Dodge Ram 2500 P/U Truck
1997-1999 5.2L & 5.9 L Dodge Dakota & Dodge Durango
