This is a long video but it has good factual information on Ethanol.

I have been running E85 in my 2002 Silverado, 2011 Acadia and 2014 Camaro with no issues. I also have had better results on my UOA's (used oil analysis) from running E85. Plus my tail pipes are staying cleaner. It is also a lesser cost race fuel at 99 octane rating.

Cannot buy E85 in my area. I am surprised your 2002 is E85 compatible. My 2015 Sierra Denali 6.2L is not E85 compatible. Only vehicles with a yellow fuel cap can use E85 per my owners manual.

I asked AMSOIL tech about this for a customer and here is their reply

Alternative fuels, such as E85, tend to leave behind more acids from combustion byproducts that dilute the oil in the crankcase, causing faster oil degradation. If you wish to perform extended intervals with alternative fuels, it is recommended that an oil analysis is preformed to determine suitability.
