Injection pump questions (general)

I have three trucks that appear to have IP issues. Getting someone to look at them who know what they are doing is impossible. I HAVE to have these trucks running. I know IPs run on pixy dust and unicorn poop. So I need to take the mystery out of them. I have looked on line but could not find any good information. Is there a reliable source or a good downloadable manual I can access? I want to learn how they work and how to rebuild/repair them.
I have very limited access to the internet right now. So please bear with me if I cannot respond right away.

You have not mentioned which pumps, but if they are Stanadyne for a 7.3, or older 12 valve Cummins, OR the Bosch inline on a Cummins...you are not going to be able to work on them yourself. I can recommend a great shop in Oregon to send it to, they likely have an exchange available to swap you. They do the same with injectors.

Older pumps that are now subjected to ULSD die a miserable death, and need to be rebuilt with the latest Viton seals, etc.

What are they doing? On my old 91 Jettas IP I was able to run straight Seafoam through it to get it going until I sent it off for rebuild.

I have different symptoms from them. I was going to get into more detailed questions when I get home and get started on them. Right now all i can do is research it and hope I can tackle these issues myself when the time comes.
