It's a Old Air Products ... Most all the A/C parts came form those boys ..
Don't see much difference from Vintage Air stuff ...

Kinda been piecing the A/C together with what parts fits the build ..

Got a bit nuts with the air control switches & center vent ..
My goal was to make it look like it was factory installed instead of a under dash add-on ...

Do think I got real close to that endeavor .. ?

That pod was made from another R Series dash, cut it up and a bunch of welding .. Turned into a bit of a job ..
Looks great though.

Old Corn Binder might have a little class to it when done ?

I do know one thing, I'm way freaking tired of throwing money at it ... For what I got in the old gal I could have went out and bought a new Silverado ...

(Well, at least a Sierra Grand !!)
Maybe, but that old truck is way cooler, and better built than any new truck. 10 years from now, that old truck will not loose any value, but that new truck will, as soon as it leaves the lot. I see it all of the time, at the car shows, I go to. A lot,,, if not most of the people have more in their vehicle, than it's worth, but, in time, there value, will only go up. Today, it's all about the tech, not the longevity of the vehicle. Long gone are the days of building a quality product. Its all about making money today. You will have a quality built vehicle, when your done. Way better than anything you go buy from any car lot. But, that's just my opinion.

Years back when the Binder was looking good I was driving down the road in Tampa, Fl when a truck came up behind me flashing his lights and had his arm out the window waving me down ... Pulled over to see what his gig was about ??

He said that he owned a GMC dealership, handled me his card and wanted me to come down to his lot .. Said to pick out any new truck on the lot to trade even ... Man, I'll tell you that was very tempting .. Told him that I've owned the truck since 1981 and grew very fond of it over the years (First born was conceived in it, I think) so I passed up his offer ... Looking back on the deal made me think .. What a dumbass I am for not taking him up on that deal .. !!

As much as I'd like to upgrade, I'm holding on to what I have. I can at least still do my own maintenance on it. The pig has over 310K on it and purrs like a kitten. A friend of mine has a 2020 silverado 1500 and the power steering in it is electronic...there is no fluid. It went out on him and there is like 6 different things that can cause that...wtf!

Wanted to get the gallery oil plugs out of the block to allow for the jet cleaner to do a really good job ..

Turned into a job, it did ..

Special tool designed to make this job go easy gave up the ghost ...
Tried heat, still tight as bark on a tree ..
At that point decided to drill and a easy-out ..

Got all of them out using this procedure ..

Don't you just love it when something that appears to be so simple turns out to be something that can kick your ass.
