I'm back to working on the firewall ..
Welding up unused holes is taking forever cause there are so many ..

The idea is to net a smoothie look ...
All the wiring will be going though this passthrough box ...

Will have only two cables on the wall ..
Speedo and throttle .. Maybe ??
Must contend with the cruise control & TPI cables ..
They can be mounted somewhere in the engine bay, but under dash may net a cleaner look in the bay ..

All those wholes look like someone was having target practice.

The firewall pad used clips that went though the wall ..
I welded in studs that holds the pad to the wall and fills up a few more holes ...

Getting more of the smooth look on the motor side firewall ..

Getting geared up to jump into wiring some of it ...

Modified the Holley cable bracket to work the cruise cable, should work alright .. ??



Gotta drill a hole in the firewall since the cruise module is mounted under the dash ..

Going to have the cruise cable pulling from the big hole ... May result in less jerking or hunting ..



Cruise cable is nailed down so it won't be floating around under use ..

New replacement air cleaner fits really good ..




Hope to nail down the fuse panel to the firewall tomorrow ..
Got some home spun standoffs to weld on ..



We'll see how that pans out .. ?

Looks like it's going to work okay ..
Got one of the standoffs located ... Will pull the pad and weld that one to the wall, reinstall the pad and locate the other standoff ..



This 12V to 6V reducer only works the factory gauges ...
Been on the truck a long time and will be going back into service ..



70 years later and they still work ...
