I'm not in a big hurry to start buying urea for a diesel truck, so how does the 6.0 do towing a sizable load? I'm talking 13,000 to 16,000 lbs. And does a GM truck with a 6.0 and 4.10 gears feel fairly perky around town unloaded?

ive driven a 6.0 2500hd extended cab and it has plenty of nuts. Gas mileage on the other hand was not so good. but if you need and can afford an HD then your probobly not to worried about gas mileage.

Are you talking about the newest models? I know gor the GMT800 the max rated load is 12Klbs. Dont know if that has changed any. The loads you are talking, you should either look towards a diesel or an 800 series with the 8.1.

As for unloaded(and loaded)....stock, its a dog asthere is alot of potential left that GM has nannies on...Your gonna want a tune.

The 6.0L in my opinion can be tuned to make good power. BUt will it get to Diesel or big block territory not likely.

I found that loaded or unloaded fuel milage is about the same, Ive only towed with my inlaws truck twice though( 2006 2500HD 4x4 ECSB)...once with a 20' long enclosed trailer loaded to the nuts over 500kms, and a bobcat and 20 ft dump trailer 100kms.
