reviving this thread because of a discovery I made today.
In the picture below there is a tube sticking out of the axle that used to have a tube running to it. The tube broke off and I just noticed it but the end of the tube simply runs to the frame with a wide black cap on it.
Does anyone know what this is for and is it okay to simply cap it off right away?

That's the vent tube for the axle. You need that there.

Yep, hook a hose to it and run it up somewhere out of the way.

And you want to get a hose back on it again to keep water and grit out.
