So wednesday night when I went to unlock my truck I noticed the ballasts in my headlights didn't come on, but they were workin fine earlier in the day. I pulled the headlights out and check all the connections, blew them out with an blow nozzle, hooked everything back up and still no worky. checked the fuses and they're all good so I've narrowed it down to something in the wiring. The fogs are fine so that's no problem. Any ideas? :dunno:

Here's my kit:

Everybody I know who goes to HID lights has nothing but trouble out of them. Not sure why they put up with that.

My DDM`s lasted a year in my superduty, never did figure out what was wrong, still figure it was the modules/wiring. :dunno:

Not this guy. I had a set of DDM in my Ford for 3 years and no problems, had them in my accord also with no issues. :dunno: It's kinda like everything, you have your good and bad products.

I'm not knocking HIDs... just seen a few problems. Probably due to varying quality of parts available.

I've installed four kits on my own vehicles, two on my dad's, and multiple on other friends' vehicles and never had any issue other than blowing a bulb when it got rattled to death in a loose housing. I take extra precaution to seal up all connections and mount the ballasts securely and away from the elements when possible. Perhaps others aren't as careful of I'm just extremely lucky.

I'd bet some of the cheapo kids out there are most of the problem.

That's what I'm thinking too.

I know several people that have problems out of them. I've thought about installing them, but I'm not the kind of person that wants to have to fiddle with something all the time.

I'm sure there are plenty of quality kits out there that if someone take the proper steps installing would be trouble free, but everyone I know has trouble with them. :dunno:

I've used cheap kits the entire time. Never paid more than $45 for a set. I think he may have actually meant kids.

The nice thing about the cheap kits is that the risk is low. Install them correctly, take precautions, and then, if you actually do end up having a problem, so be it. Toss 'em and go back.

Makes sense. At 45.00 a set, that's not much different from buying expensive replacement bulbs honestly.
