Okay some of you know i`ve been having issues, the kit worked great for about a week, then on long trips one side or the other lamps would turn off. so I installed the recommended relay kit, it worked that day untill this morning when i went to start the truck a second time, now nothing, i get s quick burst of light then nothing, i followed ddms troubleshooting guide, i swapped ballasts side to side, nothing, then the lamps, nothing, i have gone over the wiring, if i remove the relay kit i can get the drivers side to light up, however swapping the ballast to the driverside result in NOTHING working, swaping bulbs again results in nothing.

i have had the kit for less than 30 days, BUT lving in canada shipping to the retailer is not covered, this kit cost $95 with the relay kit and $60 to ship up here so its not really worth shipping back, if i can`t get it to work they may be ditched, i have sent an e-mail with my issues to ddm,

If anybody can help post up, i need help!! :(

Can you try running direct 12v to them? If they don't work off straight 12v, sounds like the ballasts or the connections between the bulbs and the ballasts may be at fault. That's my guess anyway.

Sounds to me like possibly a bad relay or bad wiring. Check all your connections to ensure any crimped terminals are on nice and tight, no broken wires, etc.

i checked for voltage with a multi-meter, all is okay, talked to some people, may be bad ballasts or igniters, have not received a reply from ddm as of yet. all connections were checked a good many times, unplugged, inpescted and re-plugged in.

I had to remove the system from the truck for now, cannot risk losing lights while on the road for work. everything will sit for now.

if i can talk the manager into taking the big alluminum bumper off of our 08` deck truck, i will put on some KCs.... :dunno:

at least they work for a year before they crap out.

Retro Solutions.

yeah, i considered them, they were $130 for everything, a little bit more, but everybody had heard and used ddm, so went that route, i`ll hang onto this stuff for a week to come up with a plan either to try replacing parts or go a different route...:nonod:

its frustrating, and i still haven`t gotten a reply from ddm. :fume:

I got 3 sets of HID's off ebay (2 on my truck and one set on the wife's car) and haven't had any problems with them yet. I hear a lot of guys complaining of problems with the kits from DDM tuning over on GMFS. The seller I got mine from has some for sale right now, the seller's ebay ID is kickxtc.

i bought mine from apexcone, a direct seller from ddm, i read some threads posted by kyle in another HID thread, and it sounds like my ballasts may have succum to heat, i mounted them under hood on top of the batteries, maybe i should have mounted them behind the light in a cooler location....:dunno:

they no longer fire the HIDs at all. :dunno:
seems to make some sense, they worked for a wekk or so then started to fail. maybe due to heat....:dunno:

i`ll see if i can get ballasts seperatley or not...:dunce:
