As a first step, try talking her through booting Windows into Safe Mode.. See if the fonts are hosed in there, too..
If that doesn't fix it try installing MalwareBytes then do a "full scan" and see if that fixes anything. Also if there is a malware/virus process running it won't be able to be removed with MalwareBytes and you need to run Rkill (DL link below) and then run MalwareBytes. If none of that works it is time for a reformat. Rkill download link If when you run Rkill, a message comes up saying that "Rkill is a virus" or something like that, that is just the malware trying to trick you. Leave the message open (do not click "OK") and run Rkill again. It should shut down all known malware processes and allow MalwareBytes to remove the threats.
