GM Leaves Chapter 11 in Record Time!

Good news for the folks over at GM as long as they keep their leaner and meaner spirit up and get with it in a competitive market.

I believe they are doing just that.

I wonder how long before the gov't sells back their 60% stake? I thought I heard Obama say it would be immediately after they emerged from C11, but that does not appear to be the case.

I think they will have to post a few profits before they can afford to do it. I'm highly optimistic that they can do it though. I guess we'll see how it goes over the next year or so.

Clearing chapter 11 quickly is good to hear. I have heard rumours that some credit stakeholders may try to appeal the ruling of the bankruptcy judge, claiming that the aren't getting enough return on their investments. Of course the real task is for the new GM leadership to not screw things up by falling back into old habits, being able to change the public's perception of GM, and building vehicles of quality that people want to buy.

But a 'green' GM logo?

I really can't see the governments selling their stakes in GM until GM returns to consistent profitability and stock prices have reached a stable level. Even then if the owned stock is returning dividends, why sell it off.
