Hey guys im going to see this MTX amp Thunder 404 and this 12" Kicker speaker today that some guy from selling on craigslist im wanting to use the amp to run two 6x9 Kenwood speakers I have.

The guy is wanting $30.00 for the amp and $25.00 for the speaker im going to offer him $50.00 dollars my plans are is the put the 6x9 speakers in boxes and have them in the back somewhere of my ext/cab.

Right now im running my four 4x6 speakers just for highs off my Alpine radio and the Pyle 12" speaker for lows off of a MTX 202 bridged amp I also have a new set of Audiobahn tweeters that I need to place in my truck maybe.

What do you guys think about the Kicker instead of the Pyle I have right now? I want to have my MTX 7000 sub rebuilt the material is good I think it's something to do with the windings they want $90.00 to totally rebuilt it. I don't know what model the Pyle speaker is my son-in-law gave it to me and the guy listed Kicker as C12 12"subwoofer don't know much about it.
Thanks! Roland :tmc:
Im just looking for some clean sound or something that doesn't sound that bad or better than what I had before my OEM radio then my Alpine headunit and some cheap bass cannon that I bought moons ago at Radio Shack. Im still running my Alpine CDE-9874 it's nothing mega good but it beats the stock radio.

I am not that familiar with that Kicker, but I can you that most times, the kicker will be a better speaker then the Pyle, but it depends on the box and the power given to the sub, I would try the kicker, I would guess it would sound better, I would also try each piece to make sure they work before you go rewiring and moving things around...

Kris im going to test this amp with my other amps wires just to make sure it works and I know that a Kicker speaker should be better than a Plye speaker and if I don't like it I can get my money back. Im also going to wait till I go back to San Antonio the cost to rebuilt my MTX 7000 is much cheaper than here in Houston.

Im also hoping this amp is going to be fine since it looks the same as the one I have it's just a different model number. Im FINALLY getting my truck sounds they way I want them.
Roland
PS-My set up I bet is nothing compare to others here but it works for me and it's 100% better than I had two years ago the stock radio/eq
