Averaging around 11.5 mpg with the winter fuel mix and those heavy ass tires I had put on in August.

We have a member, on another forum, who has a 90s Chevy dually with 18 wheeler tires. He wants to know why his MPGs are less than 10 to the gallon. When I told him, it's the tires, he has a fit, and wanted to argue, that he changed the rear end gears to something like 488s to compensate for the tire size. Some people just don't have any common sense. This was several months ago, and I haven't seen him back on there in a little while. LOL 488s and huge tires. Yeah, you can forget about your MPGs. They aren't going to be good. Hell I have 373s in my 97 Chevy with an Eaton true Trac, and the OE tires, and I only get about 10 MPGs in town. But it's better than my 79 Corvette with 370 gears. With all of the mods, and and no OD, It gets closer to 8 or 9 MPGs in town. LOL that's why I bought the wife a Toyota Camry, with a 4 cylinder. Now that thing get some good MPGs.

It took me a minute to realize it was the tires. I usually use a little over a 1/2 tank on the trip I always take to KY, but used right around 3/4 of a tank after I had the new tires installed. That's when I found out that these tires weigh around 70 pounds a piece and they're stock size. They sure do ride nice...Falken at4w is what I bought.
