For you audio gurus

If any of yal are bored.. could someone maybe explain some of these settings to me.. and I can change to make my system preform its best! Ive got the pioneer flip up, all aftermarket speakers, 2 kicker 12's under the rear seat and 400 watts of juice.

Any help would be appreciated.. it sounds decent after messin around with it.. but i wanna know what the hell im changing!! I understand what bass and treb are... but wtf is with the frequencys and stuff? sry.. im just not intune with this stuff.. lol.. ill tell yah all about a camshaft.. but when it comes to audio.. i fail. lol.

the camera makes the screen look funny.. its not all grainy like that!

thats a lot of pictures, the second screen is I believe your radio stations presets..the reset of the pictures are your audio frequencies, the lower frqs are for the bass levels, the louder, or higher you have the level the louder it will play that frq, the higher the frq is for the treble, the same applies, higher the number the louder that frq will play. Adjust the different frqs to your licking for a wider range of music, and kinda let it be. Does that help?

High-Pass Filter.

It filters out lower (Bass) frequencies and allows the higher frequencies through.


You should really spend some time researching car audio, it'll be well worth your time.

There are some very knowledgeable guys here but trying to get a solid understanding here will take forever.

That unit has a TON of good adjustments. You really need to brush up on crossover frequencies to get full use (and top sound reproduction) or you'll be adjusting forever and not know what you've done to get there. If you have a dedicated sub, I'd set the sub frequency at about 150Hz at first and adjust up and/or down from there. A lot really depends on the quality of the amp, box and sub. My home subs are crossed over at 88 Hz. I don't want them reproducing mid-bass frequencies.
