Well I have completed my retrofits. I didn't take the time I wanted to do a full write up & honestly I don't think I could've done a better write-up than his.

Here are some pictures of the process. Just random pics I took while working on the project. I would rate this a 5-6/10 for difficulty. There are a few things I would have done differently. But 100% glad I did it. Light output is great & it's nice knowing I am running HIDs and not blinding people

When you drive by a little civic or something the cutoff is perfect right at their windshield cowling. No Glare!

RETROFIT WRITE UP (THANKS powerz69)

I went with the FX-R projectors with the 5000k with Gaitling Gun shrouds (wish I went with Apollos....kind of) LINK

Somethings I would have done differently:

  • Not cheap Chinese lights. The OEM ones would have been worth the extra money honestly
  • NEVER EVER, trust Harbor Freight Dremel accessories. They are pure garbage
  • Take more time with the drilling/aligning

Well worth the money!

Mocking the projectors up

Now you can see the need for sinking the shrouds down onto the projectors

Output down on one of our backroads (Shitty P&S camera don't do it nearly enough justice)

(Brights) Output is outreal, literally can light up 4 lanes of traffic

Lows you can see the sharp cutoff. Honestly my driverside light is slightly out of alignment

Nice!!

And I can also confirm that HF rotary tools (fake dremels) and their bits are pure garbage. I bought a tool with a bunch of bits and I literally just tossed it all in the trash can. I could remove more material with a goddamned nail file.

The sanding wheels suck, they last all of 5 secs. The collet wrench rounded off after one use
