does anyone know around how much it would cost to have my exhaust redone from the motor back. i have 2 40 series flows laying in my shop that im DYING to have on:D. would it be cheaper to buy a kit and do it myself? or should i save my time and let the mechanics deal with it? one shop said about $250. that was with my mufflers and 2.5in pipe.

I would have it done custom by a reputable shop.

$250 sounds very reasonable. If you trust them to do a nice job, go for it!

200 bucks would be a bargain with you supplying the mufflers. 250 is not a bad price.

the cool thing is i didn't pay a dime for em! one of my buddy's dad had em on his 69 mustang and said they were too loud so he gave me all the piping from the headers back.

If you want loud just run straight pipes or baffled bottles, take a pin bar or equivelent and knock the baffles out of muffler. This way when you get pulled over you do have a muffler, so cops cant do much.

No, he is saying to get a metal rod and smash the baffles out of the Flowmasters to make them essentially a hollow casing. It would make the truck louder and still keep you "legal" if there are requirements to have a muffler on the vehicle where you live. My buddy hollowed out a 10 series Flowmaster on his 98 Silverado and that thing was crazy loud.
