Hey guys, my drivers door started squeaking about a week ago, and I thought it was the hinges, and I went to clean and lube them I noticed that the door was rubbing the fender, and had wore some paint off:(

Here's some pics:

You can see the gap getting smaller

Also the other side of the door has a good gap, about identical to the other side, so I'm not sure. My grandpa was kind of a big guy, and probably used the door and steering wheel to get in, so that may have wore something

What options do I have to fix it?
Door Bushings, fender adjustment, door adjustment door pins?

Pick up a set of bushings and pins for the hinges. Most auto parts stores have them, they are easy to install. After replacement then adjust the gap if you need to.

GMT400 trucks were known for sagging hinges because of worn out bushings.

Not looking forward to saggy doors :(. Although I find myself pushing down on the door as I get in lately.

Hey Tyler, got your HID's yet?

Another vote for the bushings. I replaced several sets of those on my '91.

Ok, well I guess I'll be heading to Napa tonight, and gettin me a set of pins and bushings. Good to hear it's a fairly common problem I guess.

No Matt, but I think from the ticker on their website, they should have shipped yesterday, but I didn't get an email, so I'm not sure if the have, I may have to call them today

Probably bushings but you can always try to adjust it now to see if it helps. If not then you need bushings anyway.

Well I stopped by napa and got pins and bushings, and for $15 it's not a big deal if that isn't it.

Matt, I got an email today, and they shipped my lights today

Any body have any helpful hints for when I go to change out the pins. I see you are supposed to use a spring compressor for the spring, but couldn't you do them one at a time, and not have to take the whole door loose, and have to deal with the spring?
