Decal removal....

got a big chevy and flame decal across my back window... its been on there since i bought the truck.. guy before me had it on there.... that was in fall of 2006.... i wanna remove it because its finally faded.. but the sum bitch is baked on... i tried using a razor blade... not much luck... dont wanna scratch the window either... ive got a bad ass heat gun and ive applied it to the decal... and it doesnt even bubble like most decals do!! it just starts to burn it... so now im kinda stuck... any ideas on how to get it off my rear window? thanks.

Razor blade and heat gun are the fist two things I would have suggested.

Have you tried the two in combination? Heat up the decal decently and then try to fit the blade behind it. Sounds like you are just going to have to take your time and work at it.

BTW, are you trying just a blade or using a scraper so that you can get a little force and leverage behind it?

Will it turn loose using a razor blade scraper and the heat gun in tandem? If it won't that's one tough ass decal. Might be easier to knock the back glass out and start over.

One word of caution. I've seen a guy break a back glass with a heat gun. You have to heat with care. Too much heat in one spot can shatter it.
