Yeah but this one doesn't have holes rotted through the frame. So I did plugs, wires, put the stock airbox and a new filter in, and changed the oil. This thing runs like a beast... Well... No. It runs. Better than it did. But god damn is it slow. Which is half the reason it's so damn fun. Put about 400 miles on it so far with no issues, it's parked down at my parents' house for the next couple months and they'll be using it until i put the blue truck in storage. Picture. Isn't it a thing of beauty? 1988 Toyota 4Runner by Dan Valanzola, on Flickr
How's the transmission in that thing? I had a friend that had an 88 pickup and his 5th gear was noisy due to not getting lubricated like it should. Switched it over to a synthetic and it helped it some.
3rd and 5th scream pretty good. Going to change the fluid some time soon and see if it helps, doing some quick research it doesn't sound like it's a sign of imminent failure though, so I don't really care too much. It's a beater. If it goes forwards, backwards, turns, and stops, when I want it to I'm happy.
Damn it, Dan. I was going to steal this photo and enter it in a contest. You and those stupid watermarks.
Hey, someone from Road & Track magazine recently emailed me about potentially using a random photo I took years ago of a Miata roll bar in the magazine. They pay. Well. Without the watermark, they probably don't find me. If it goes on Flickr, it gets watermarked.
Wait, so they find it on your Flickr, yet they wouldn't be able to find you without your name on it? I am sure I'm missing something here, please explain when you have a minute. I really don't care about the watermark, that was just me giving you shit, but I'm not picking up what you're laying down here on the watermark.
