Ok I'll admit I've been around boats most of my life and have cleaned and been on 10'-100' boats. But never cleaned one with carpet. They've all been aluminum or fiberglass boats.

We have a 21' Sun Tracker (Deck/Bass Boat) at work that has carpet on it. It is filthy & I don't know what I can use on the carpet safely. I have only tried spot shot with zero results

I'm out of C&UC from Adam's at the moment or I'd try that like I do with my truck interior. Can you safely powerwash it (little electric powerwasher @ work) or even spray it down a good bit? I've read distilled white vinegar & some elbow grease will get the job done :dunno:

Just curious what you use on your pontoon boat? ( IIRC that's what you have)

Thanks :tmc:

I do have a pontoon and I never use any sort of cleaner at all, just the pressure washer. Most good marine carpets will shed dirt, grime, mildew, etc. pretty well with a little pressure. As in Jim's thread, I just use a little electric washer so as not to tear the carpet apart but I do give it a pretty good bit of pressure nonetheless. It takes me all of about 15 minutes to clean mine.

Thanks Fellas yeah we got a little electric power washer that doesn't do much but knock off bird crap a hell of a lot easier on the docks.

We'll try it thanks!

The boat detailers at my work clean them like Tobias said. They use a pressure washer and just about anything comes out. The one thing they have trouble with is mold and mildew. Especially on white or very light colored seats. I remember one time they took a trade in with white seats that were covered in mildew. It was so bad they ended up having to pay a guy to come out and redye the seats so they could sell it.

Seats are a different story. I use Tilex on them and that peels almost all stains off completely. We have a tan and burgundy interior and it works like a charm.
