Crew Cab 8ft. Bed Why Are they NOT Popular

hi guys this is sort of a poll slash opinion post. Why is it everyone is scared or doesn't want a True 4 door crew cab truck with a 8 foot bed. To me what is the sense of having a truck that you can't haul a sheet of plywood in with the tailgate up. Is it the length of the truck that scares them. An 8foot bed and crew cab can't be much longer then a BURB. Maybe its just my thinking. With the short bed and a 5th wheel Travel trailer you have to mess with slider hitches and to me they are a PITA. Sure alot go with the crew cab if they have families etc........but always with a short bed. What is the fascination here! Don't blast me to hard about the fear thing just curious to know.

I'm guessing lack of maneuverability. It would be a bastard if you had to park it in a crowded space. Otherwise they are rather functional. That is what we have a work is a 2500HD CCLB. It does take some getting used to driving especially while backing, but overall it's not bad.

Easy explanation.....most people cant drive a compact car let alone a decent sized truck.

My guess is that it's all about what's cheaper when it comes to frame reuse.

I have had 2 CCLB's and loved them. My current CC is a SB, but it is a wimpy little 1/2ton. I personally prefer the full 8 ft bed over the short one. My wife on the other hand didn't like parking a school bus, but that just kept her out of them.

I get my crew cab long bed in an out of just about anywhere. Its like anything else you get used to it. Last 3 trucks have all ben 8 foot bed crew cabs. I admit SOME parking garages can be a challenge to get in and out of it. But you just BACK IN everywhere.

That's over a 3 foot difference...
