Chrysler Recalls 242,780 Ram Trucks To Fix Steering

Chrysler says it is recalling a total of 242,780 Dodge Ram pickup trucks ranging from the 2003 to 2011 model years because their left-side tie rods can break allowing the left front when to move independently, without control of the steering wheel. The resulting loss of directional stability could increase the risk of a crash.

Haven't read it yet but I bet it's the HDs. We just had to do the Sterling 4500 &5500 trucks a while back. Funny they never gave us a reason for the recall

The only 1500's are the MegaCabs based on the 2500 chassis. It is basically all the SFA models which have had a known "death wobble" issue for years. I doubt tie rod ends will solve the wobble, but maybe it will keep the wheels from going pigeon toed in a parking lot.
