My truck currently has a stock 5.3 but I want more torque and hp. More torque then hp because I have 35'' tires with stock gearing for now. Which motor would be better? Anything I would need to do to put the 6.0l in my truck?

Gearing is going to be your best and cheapest option in the short term. Either way you go engine wise, you are are more than likely going to need a rebuilt (stronger) tranny to go along with it and you still won't feel the difference much unless you are geared correctly. Just my $.02...

Well I am going to do both. It is just going to take time. Gears and rebuild kits and and eaton e locker are $1600. I am going to replace the g80. Motor I can get for about $300. And cam is $400. I was wanting the cam basically just for the sound. I want the lope. I am going to go with the 4.56's

You should still do the gears first.

That was my plan. Just need to save my money. How much do you think labor would be? I think I just want to do it myself but I am not sure yet.

A big cam with a lot of lope isn't going to make any power down low. So now you're going to make the gearing/tire problem even worse. Without the right gears, you'll be down low in the revs, and not be making any power down there. That's a recipe for a serious dog. Gears first. You won't regret it.
