If you are doing 3D modeling, one of these is essential.

Do you have one of those Jeff? I've thought about buying one before, but didn't know if I could justify the cost. :dunno:

Yes, I dont have that exact one. I have a Spaceball 5000. You can find these pretty cheap on e-bay. Make sure to get a USB and not a serial one though.

I had an A.I.T., Architect in Training, that worked for me that used them; whenever a new one would come out he would buy it. IMO they were worthless as tits on a board, maybe it was because he was only using them on 2D, or that he sucked but not once did they allow him to do his job any better or more proficient. I finally told him that he would be issued a company mouse and he had to use it and I gave him a 3 button mouse. Just remember a good journeyman never blames his tools.

 I don't see why you'd need one of those for 2D

No clue dude, but it was probably more time consuming screwing with each one and setting up all the buttons to do certain things than posting all day on TMC.

No kidding!

With 3D modeling and a little proficiency, they are invaluable.

I'm getting by with my $20 three-button mouse.:dunno: Like others said, I could not justify buying it.

Here's more... turns out, they are 16". Got the bolt pattern and indent for the TMPS in there too. No valve stem though. Polished aluminum is the color right now.

That's cool, man. I love CAD work. Took a SolidEdge class my sophomore year. Now SolidWorks has basically replaced it. Use AutoCAD most of the time for work, but have been using SolidWorks more and more. I enjoy it a lot. Time passes by so much faster doing CAD work.

Currently working on designing a die rack for some of our press brakes to replace an old, crappy one. Making it out of 2" tubing so we can fab it in-house. Stuck on doing the stress analysis, though. It crashes my laptop when I try to bond certain connections. :fume:

Looks great, man, keep us updated.
