Well i've been needing a trailer for my samurai anyways and i've got an idea. I'll take a pop-up camper, take the axles out from under it and set it on the front of a long flat trailer sideways so the front door faces the rear. Then i'll have room in the rear to park my samurai. I think it'll work great and still be fairly easy to pull with my f150.
What do you think?

5 feet for the camper? That's one tiny pop-up.

I think it's a great idea. I always wanted to do something like that with a bus. You should see the look I get in my house when I bring it up.

I think it would be a cool idea.If you do a decent job on the install it won't look too bad.Remember to allow for the wieght of fresh water, gray & black water tanks if you go that way.Otherwise the porta-pottie in the trailer would work, but needs more dumping with more people. Also be aware it's gonna need brakes.

Found this, kind of what you're looking to copy...Wanderer Pak Rat made by Thor

Looks like it should work, but I'd be worried about tounge weight. Any idea what the pop up trailer weighs?
yeah tounge weight is a concern but i'll only be traveling on the road with the samurai on the back to even it out. while im parked i can put the jack down to hold the weight. from what i gather the smaller popup's weight around 1400lbs or so.

that's technically the width of the popup since im turning it sideways. im not sure how wide they are really, that was just a guess. i'd say they're more like 6ft. since there is a bed in there. im looking for an 8ft. popup for this build.
